Vvmracing shortens the front forks in the following way:

The front fork legs are literally shortened. (chrome tube is shortened)

The advantage of this is that the suspension travel remains the same as original.

The disadvantage is the price and the somewhat more complex way to do this. (requires a lathe)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are two types of front forks.

Type 1 These are front forks (conventional telescope) where the spring is on the piston rod.

The piston rod is usually attached to the lower leg with an Allen screw.

Shortening this means the following:

- the piston rod keeps the original length

- the inner leg can be shortened at the bottom or at the top.

- if necessary, the spring length can be adjusted.

The advantage of shortening the front fork in this way is that the suspension travel remains original.

Type 2 (not adjustable type)

This is a so-called open cartridge front fork.

A piston rod is connected to the screw cap.

The spring is clamped between the cap and the cartridge.

Shortening this means:

- shorten the piston rod and retighten it in the cap.

- the inner leg can be shortened at the bottom or at the top.

- if necessary, the spring length can be adjusted.
